Paestum
Paestum is one of the best preserved Italian archeological sites and World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The site was inhabited since prehistoric times and over the centuries the town was conquered by Greeks, Lucanians and Romans.
The main attractions are: the city’s Agora, the Forum, the Amphitheater, the Basilica, meaning the sacred area with secondary buildings and the main temple, and the 3 Doric temples that have made the area famous, the Temple of Neptune, the Temple of Hera and The Temple of Athena. Remains, finds and paintings are kept in the National Archeological Museum.
